Deigner Jack Irving debuts ‘AMPHITRITE’ at London Fashion Week with on/off London.

Arriving at spitalfieldse venue, near Liverpool Street station, I found myself transported into an immersive world of sensory stimulation. Techno music blaring from the ceiling, strobe lighting and sparks flying, brightening the room at a moments notice light lightning. Curtains falling from the roof with projections of 3D rendered hologram visuals creating a translucence window for what was to be delivered deeper into the live insulation.
The main event of course stood in the middle of the room, 3 models each adorned in gigantic turquoise latex garments, each with a unique and intricate structure to them. These pieces, along with the hair and makeup make these models look otherworldly, like they have taken a trip to fashion week from another galaxy.
The elements of movement I found to be the most impressive element of this showcase. The models on turntables, ensuring the audience can see every intricate detail of each look, as well as the mechanical element to the look at the back of the room.
As the music would swell, and you could feel a bass drop was approaching, the models outfit would begin to powerfully spin around the models torso. Throwing the huge, tentacle like appendages around the model, framing her in incredibly interesting ways, and creating a light/shadow show on the walls and curtains surrounding the piece. This most definitely took everyone attending by surprise in the most exciting way.
This live instillation was like nothing else I saw during my time at fashion week, and I cannot wait to see what Irving will do next.
